“The news of Nityananda Hembram’s demise has left us all in a state of profound sorrow,” Mamata Banerjee remarked. “He had compassion, embodied wisdom, & unwavering dedication to the well-being of the Adivasi community. His demise is an irreparable loss for the public life of the jungle mahals and all the Adivasis.”
Nityananda Hembram, an octogenarian leader, dedicated his life to championing the rights and uplifting the marginalized Adivasi communities in West Bengal. Through his unwavering commitment, he brought attention to the challenges faced by these communities and worked tirelessly to address their issues, both at the grassroots level and on the broader political stage.
