The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) proudly launched the One District One Product (ODOP) Awards, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for balanced regional development. These prestigious awards, introduced on the Rashtriya Puraskar portal on June 15th, aim to acknowledge and honor outstanding achievements in economic development through the ODOP approach at the district, state/union territory, and international levels.
The awards aim to foster competition, innovation, and effective public service delivery in successful ODOP interventions. They also aim to promote the replication and institutionalization of best practices through experience sharing. Moreover, the awards recognize innovations made in identifying and resolving bottlenecks in the supply chain of ODOP products.
Open Call for Applications and Active Participation
The application process for the ODOP Awards commenced on June 25th, 2023, and will remain open until July 31st, 2023. All states/union territories, district administrations, and Indian missions abroad are eligible to participate and are strongly urged to submit their applications for these awards.
District and state administrations, as well as missions abroad, are urged to actively seek recognition through the ODOP Awards. By setting an example of innovation and effective public service delivery, they can inspire others and further fuel progress under the ODOP program.
