Arzu Rana Deuba, a prominent Nepali social worker, psychologist, and politician, currently serves as a Member of Parliament representing the Nepali Congress Party. Her appointment marks her third tenure in Parliament, where she has notably chaired the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Cooperatives, and Natural Resources since August 2023.
Having joined the Nepali Congress in 1996, Dr. Deuba has been a central figure in advocating for women’s rights, equal citizenship, and political representation during her extensive tenure in the Constituent Assembly and Parliament of Nepal. She has also championed various social causes through her leadership roles in NGOs focusing on gender equality and sustainable development.
Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba’s contributions extend internationally, including her role as a regional councilor for South and East Asia at the IUCN and her involvement in key environmental and gender policy initiatives. She continues to play a pivotal role in promoting social and emotional learning through transformative educational programs aimed at youth empowerment.
