Advancing Nephrology Care through Ayushman Bharat’s Digital Mission and Wellness Centers

In her address, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan emphasized the transformative potential of Ayushman Bharat’s digital mission in improving healthcare delivery. The digital mission has played a pivotal role in ensuring accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in healthcare services. It has facilitated seamless integration of health records, reduced paperwork, and enhanced patient care.

Furthermore, Dr. Soundararajan lauded the establishment of wellness centers under Ayushman Bharat. These centers serve as primary healthcare hubs, providing comprehensive services, including preventive, promotive, and curative care. With a special focus on chronic diseases, wellness centers are instrumental in the early detection and management of kidney-related ailments, leading to better outcomes for patients.

Hon’ble PMO India’s Dialysis Scheme and Gujarat Model: A Path Towards Enhanced Dialysis Care

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also highlighted the Honorable Prime Minister’s Dialysis scheme, which aims to provide affordable and accessible dialysis services to the underprivileged sections of society. This scheme has been instrumental in expanding the reach of dialysis care, particularly in remote areas, where access to specialized facilities is limited. By ensuring affordable dialysis treatments, the scheme has significantly improved the quality of life for patients with end-stage renal disease.

Drawing inspiration from the Gujarat model, Dr. Soundararajan emphasized the importance of the “One Nation One Dialysis” approach. Under this model, patients can receive free single-use dialysis in any center across the state, regardless of their place of residence. Additionally, patients are entitled to a travel allowance of Rs. 300 per dialysis session, further reducing the financial burden associated with treatment. Dr. Soundararajan applauded this model and announced that Puducherry UT would soon adopt a similar approach to enhance dialysis care in the region.
