Divya Kala Mela – Raipur: Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, will inaugurate the 17th Divya Kala Mela in Raipur. Organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), this week-long fair aims to celebrate and empower artisans and entrepreneurs with disabilities.
Diverse Craftsmanship on Display
The Mela will showcase over 100 artisans from around 20 States/UTs, featuring a wide range of products such as home decor, clothing, eco-friendly items, and packaged foods. Each product reflects the unique cultural heritage and creativity of its maker, offering visitors a chance to explore and purchase handcrafted goods.
Empowerment Through Job Fairs and Financial Assistance
Beyond showcasing crafts, the Mela will include the ‘Divya Kala Shakti’ Job Fairs and Loan Mela. These initiatives aim to provide financial support and job opportunities to participants, helping them advance their businesses and achieve self-reliance.
Celebrating Talent and Creativity
The event will also host the Divya Kala Shakti cultural program, where Divyang artists will perform music, dance, and drama. This cultural celebration highlights the talents of individuals with disabilities and contributes to their recognition and empowerment.
The Raipur Mela is part of a series of successful events held across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, and Guwahati, each fostering skill development and market exposure for Divyangjan.
