The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Dehradun has filed a Prosecution Complaint (PC) against Bharti Devi, former Account Assistant of Multipurpose Kisan Sewa Co-Operative Societies Limited, and her son Ravi Kumar. The case, involving the embezzlement of funds from the society and the public, was submitted to the Hon’ble Special Court (PMLA), Dehradun on 30th July 2024. The court took cognizance of the complaint on 3rd August 2024.
Investigation Initiation
The ED initiated the investigation based on an FIR registered by Vikasnagar Police Station, Dehradun, under various sections of the IPC, 1860. The investigation revealed that Bharti Devi had manipulated records and documents of MPACS, Vikasnagar to misappropriate funds for personal gain.
Methods of Embezzlement
The accused employed various methods to embezzle the funds of the cooperative society and the public. The ED’s investigation highlighted these fraudulent activities and the extent of the misappropriation.
Asset Attachment
Earlier, the ED had issued two Provisional Attachment Orders, attaching three immovable properties worth approximately Rs. 3.80 crore in connection with the case under the provisions of PMLA, 2002.
