Election Commission Submits 18th Lok Sabha Election Results to President Murmu

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, accompanied by Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar & Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, paid a courtesy visit to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. During the meeting, they submitted a notification issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in accordance with Section 73 of the Representation of People Act, 1951.

The notification contained the names of Members elected to the House of the People (Lok Sabha) following the General Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha. This formal submission is a customary procedure after the conclusion of general elections, signifying the official documentation of elected Members of Parliament.

President Droupadi Murmu received the notification and expressed appreciation for the diligent work of the Election Commission in conducting free and fair elections. She commended the efforts of the Election Commissioners and the entire electoral machinery for upholding the democratic principles of India.

The meeting underscored the collaborative relationship between the Election Commission and the highest office of the country in ensuring the smooth functioning of democratic processes. It also highlighted the transparency and accountability maintained throughout the electoral procedures.

As the notification containing the names of elected Members was submitted, it marks an important step in the transition to the new legislative term, setting the stage for parliamentary proceedings and governance in the 18th Lok Sabha.
