Elon Musk has agreed to a televised fight with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro following accusations of cyber-attacks on Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE). Maduro had challenged Musk after he called him a dictator and criticized the recent elections.
Elon Musk: Maduro’s Challenge
Maduro, claiming social media creates a false reality, accused Musk of orchestrating attacks on Venezuela’s electoral system. He challenged, “Are you up for a fight? I’m not intimidated by you, Elon Musk.”
Musk’s Response
On his platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk accepted the challenge, making playful jabs at both Maduro and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg. He proposed, “If I win, he steps down as Venezuela’s dictator.”If he emerges victorious, I’ll arrange a complimentary journey for him to Mars.”
Political Tensions
Musk has consistently criticized Maduro as a dictator and denounced the Venezuelan elections. Maduro retaliated by suggesting Musk’s accusations are a cover for an alleged invasion plan, fueled by Musk’s influence and resources.
