Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath takes proactive steps to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of Chhath Puja and Dev Diwali, emphasizing rigorous security arrangements, traffic management, and measures to safeguard women during the festive celebrations.
Chhath Puja, a significant festival celebrated with fervor across the country, particularly in North Indian states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, witnesses distinctive enthusiasm and devotion. As the festive season approaches, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a crucial meeting with officials to discuss preparations for Chhath Puja and Dev Diwali, offering necessary directives to ensure a secure and seamless celebration.
“Concerned about the safety of women and daughters during the festivities, CM Yogi has directed police officers, including the Director-General of Police (DGP) and police captains of all districts, to implement special security arrangements. The focus is on creating a secure environment, particularly on the ghats where devotees gather for Chhath Puja and Dev Diwali celebrations”.
In line with this, CM Yogi has urged top police officers of districts and commissioners to conduct comprehensive review meetings regarding preparations for the festivals. The reports of these meetings will be submitted to the headquarters, ensuring a coordinated and effective approach to security measures.
Traffic management is a key aspect of the CM’s instructions, with officials directed to ensure smooth traffic arrangements in their respective districts. Strict action is mandated against those violating traffic rules, and special attention must be given to enforcing all traffic regulations. The CM has emphasized the need for special arrangements for routes leading to crowded areas and those heading to the ghats, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion during the celebrations.
“Women’s safety remains a top priority, with CM Yogi instructing the deployment of anti-Romeo teams on alert in all districts. These teams will be stationed in markets where women are shopping and at ghats where large gatherings are expected during Chhath Puja. Additionally, the CM has called for a timely investigation and resolution of pending cases in police stations across the state”.
As Uttar Pradesh gears up for the grand celebrations of Chhath Puja and Dev Diwali, CM Yogi Adityanath’s proactive measures underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring a secure, joyous, and harmonious festive experience for all residents and visitors alike.
