Envoys From 5 Countries Presented Credentials To The President Of India.

On February 24, 2023, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, accepted the credentials of the Ambassadors of South Sudan, Oman, Peru, and Cambodia, as well as the High Commissioner of Seychelles, in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

During the ceremony, the newly appointed envoys presented their credentials to the President, officially marking the beginning of their tenure as ambassadors and high commissioners to India. The event was a significant diplomatic occasion, highlighting the importance of India’s relationships with these countries.

H.E. Mrs. Victoria Samuel Aru, Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan, was one of the envoys who presented her credentials. India has maintained friendly ties with South Sudan since its independence in 2011, and the two countries have cooperated in various fields, including health, education, and agriculture.

H.E. The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman Mr. Issa Saleh Abdullah Saleh Al Shibani also presented his credentials. Oman and India have a long history of cultural and economic ties, and the two countries have worked together to enhance their strategic partnership.

H.E. Mr. Javier Manuel Paulinich Velarde, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru, was another envoy who presented his credentials. India and Peru have maintained close relations, with both countries sharing a commitment to democracy, diversity, and social justice.

H.E. Mrs. Lalatiana Accouche, High Commissioner of the Republic of Seychelles, presented her credentials as well. Seychelles and India have a strong partnership, with India supporting Seychelles in various areas, including healthcare, education, and maritime security.

Finally, H.E. Mr. Koy Kuong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia, presented his credentials. India and Cambodia have a longstanding cultural and historical connection, and the two countries have cooperated in various fields, including agriculture, trade, and culture.

In accepting the credentials of these envoys, President Murmu emphasized the importance of strengthening India’s ties with these countries. The ceremony underscored the significance of diplomacy and the role it plays in building international partnerships and promoting peace and prosperity.
