Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman presided over a meeting in New Delhi on July 6th to assess the performance of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) across various financial, efficiency, and health parameters. The meeting was attended by Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad, along with senior officials from different departments and the MDs & CEOs of PSBs, highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening the banking sector.
The review meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, aimed to evaluate the progress and performance of PSBs on key parameters. Attended by esteemed individuals including Finance Secretary and Secretary Expenditure Dr. T.V. Somanathan, representatives from the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Chief Economic Advisor, Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI), and other senior officials from the DFS, the meeting focused on enhancing the efficiency and financial health of PSBs.
