The 57-year-old actor, who had been on ventilator support, breathed his last at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital at 12:08 am on December 5. Phadnis succumbed to multiple organ failure after battling extensive liver damage, and he was removed from the ventilator the previous night.

Dinesh Phadnis had earned widespread acclaim for his nearly two-decade portrayal of Fredericks in CID, a show that became a television sensation since its debut in 1998. Starring alongside Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Phadnis dedicated years to the beloved series. His contributions extended beyond CID, with a cameo appearance in the popular TV show ”Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah”.
