Further Withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon: A Transition into Cooler Days

As the Southwest Monsoon continues its retreat, the seasonal shift brings favorable conditions for its withdrawal across several regions in India. According to the latest weather updates, the withdrawal line now passes through specific regions, and the withdrawal process is expected to affect more areas in the next few days.

1. Current Status of Monsoon Withdrawal

The Southwest Monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through several prominent regions, including Lakhimpur Kheri, Shivpuri, Kota, Udaipur, Deesa, Surendranagar, and Junagarh. This indicates that parts of West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra will experience further withdrawal of the monsoon in the next 2-3 days, leading to a reduction in rainfall activity.

2. Weather Systems Influencing the Conditions

A low-pressure system has developed over the northern Bay of Bengal, impacting nearby coastal areas, including Bangladesh and West Bengal. In addition, a cyclonic circulation is observed over North Bangladesh, extending into Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. A second cyclonic circulation persists over the southeast Arabian Sea, adding to the overall weather systems influencing the country’s conditions.

3. Forecast for East and Northeast India

Light to moderate rainfall is expected across East and Northeast India, especially over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, and Sikkim for the next two days. Isolated heavy rainfall may occur in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on October 5th. However, the Northeast region will continue to experience scattered rainfall over the next week.

4. South and Central India Outlook

South Peninsular India, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, will likely experience widespread light to moderate rainfall. Isolated heavy rain could affect Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, and parts of Tamil Nadu in the coming days. However, no significant rain is expected over Northwest, West, and Central India during the same period, signaling drier conditions as monsoon retreats.
