The G20 Interfaith Working Group (IWG) meeting commences today in Narendranagar. The primary focus of this meeting is the flagship priority of “Financing Cities of Tomorrow: Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable,” in addition to other important topics on the agenda.
During the meeting, representatives from various faith communities and G20 member countries will come together to discuss strategies and initiatives aimed at ensuring the financing of cities that are inclusive, resilient, and sustainable. This priority recognizes the critical role that cities play in shaping our future, and emphasizes the need for comprehensive and sustainable funding mechanisms to support their development.
In addition to financing cities, the IWG meeting will cover other significant priorities relevant to interfaith cooperation and global challenges. These may include topics such as promoting peace and dialogue among different religious and cultural communities, addressing climate change and environmental sustainability, advancing social and economic equity, and fostering inclusive and harmonious societies.
By engaging diverse religious and interfaith perspectives, the G20 IWG aims to foster collaboration and collective action to address the pressing issues of our time. Through inclusive and sustainable financing mechanisms, it seeks to promote the well-being and resilience of cities, contributing to a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
