After an impressive opening with Rs 20.5 crore, the film witnessed a 55 percent surge on its second Saturday, raking in Rs 32 crore, leading to a total collection of Rs 336.06 crore. Additionally, it earned Rs 395.1 crores globally, becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film on Independence Day with Rs 55.40 crore. Despite clashing with ‘OMG 2,’ ‘Gadar 2’ continues to create history, with packed shows on single screens across India’s mass centers.
During a press conference, Sunny Deol shared his initial reaction to the audience’s overwhelming response, stating, “I was quite stressed before the release… I cried and laughed the entire night.” Directed by Anil Sharma, ‘Gadar 2’ is a sequel to the 2001 hit, portraying Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) crossing borders to rescue his son from Pakistan. The film garnered unprecedented advance bookings and received praise from industry peers, including Salman Khan.
