Bhupendrabhai Patel: Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel, born on July 15, 1962, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has emerged as a pivotal figure in Gujarat’s political landscape. A civil engineer by training, he earned his Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad in 1982. Patel’s career began in municipal governance, where he served in various capacities, including as a member and President of Memnagar Nagarpalika, and Vice Chairman of the school board of Amdavad Municipal Corporation.

His tenure as Chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) from 2015 to 2017 underscored his proactive approach towards urban development. Patel’s political journey took a significant turn when he contested and won the Ghatlodia constituency in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 2017, securing a notable victory margin.

On September 13, 2021, Patel assumed office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, succeeding Vijay Rupani. During his first term, he initiated several key policies aimed at fostering economic growth and infrastructural development, including the launch of the Gujarat IT/ITeS policy 2022-2027 and the establishment of a committee to study the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code in the state.

In the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections, Bhupendrabhai Patel’s leadership received resounding validation as the Bharatiya Janata Party secured a historic 156 out of 182 seats, affirming his mandate for a second term. On December 12, 2022, he was sworn in as Chief Minister once again, signaling continuity in Gujarat’s governance under his leadership.
