Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced a 4% increase in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees, aligning it with the central-level increase. This decision, effective from January 1, 2024, aims to benefit state employees under the Seventh Pay Commission.
In his announcement, CM Bhupendra Patel stated, “A total of 4.71 lakh Karma Yogis and approximately 4.73 lakh retired employees, including pensioners, will benefit from this dearness allowance increase.”
The Chief Minister further elaborated that the difference in the dearness allowance for the period from January 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024, will be paid in three installments along with the salary. The state government will allocate a total of Rs 1129.51 crore to cover these arrears for its employees.
