Heavy Rainfall Alert: West India to Witness Extreme Weather Conditions

A Heavy Rainfall Alert has been issued for several regions across India due to a cyclonic circulation over Vidarbha and a trough extending from North Konkan to South Bangladesh. This weather system is expected to bring widespread rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy downpours likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and the Gujarat region on September 26th. Similar heavy rainfall conditions are forecasted for parts of Central and Northeast India, including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Assam.

West India: Heavy Rainfall Alert

Regions such as Konkan & Goa will experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat Region, and Marathwada are predicted to see light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, followed by isolated to scattered rainfall for the subsequent four days. Saurashtra & Kutch will have scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the next two days, transitioning to isolated rainfall for the following five days. On September 26th, extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat Region, with isolated heavy to very heavy rain likely on September 26th and 27th.

Central India: Heavy Rainfall Alert

Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh will witness fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 hours, followed by scattered to fairly widespread showers over the next six days. In Madhya Pradesh, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is forecasted for the next three days, with isolated showers in the subsequent four days. West Madhya Pradesh may see isolated heavy rainfall from September 26th to 27th, while East Madhya Pradesh could experience it on September 26th.

East & Northeast India: Heavy Rainfall Alert

Northeast India will have fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next week. In West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar, the first three days will see similar rainfall patterns, transitioning to scattered to fairly widespread rainfall for the remaining four days. Jharkhand and Odisha are expected to have widespread rainfall over the next two days. Extremely heavy rain is anticipated in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on September 26th, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on the same day. Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim could face heavy showers on September 26th and 27th.

Northwest India: Heavy Rainfall Alert

Regions including Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, and East Uttar Pradesh will experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the next two days, followed by isolated to scattered showers for the subsequent five days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in East Uttar Pradesh on September 27th, with Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh also likely to experience heavy rain during this period.

South Peninsular India:

Coastal Karnataka will see widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week, with Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, South Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh receiving scattered to fairly widespread showers. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Kerala & Mahe on September 29th and 30th, while Telangana and Coastal Karnataka may experience intense rainfall on September 26th.
