Weather: A low-pressure area has moved westward over northern West Bengal and is expected to impact Jharkhand within 24 hours. Another low-pressure system near the Maharashtra coast is likely to weaken soon.
Weather Trough and Cyclonic Circulation
The western end of the monsoon trough lies near its normal position, while the eastern end is positioned north of its usual location. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation is anticipated to form over the North Bay of Bengal around August 24.
Regional Rainfall Predictions
Northwest India, including Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and parts of Uttar Pradesh, is likely to experience heavy rainfall. West and Central India, especially Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, are expected to receive isolated hefty rainfall.
Weather: Northeast and South Peninsular India Outlook
Northeast India will see widespread rainfall, with hefty showers expected in Assam and Meghalaya. In South India, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and Telangana will experience significant rainfall, with strong winds forecasted for Kerala and Lakshadweep.
