Home Minister Amit Shah Addresses G20 Conference on Digital Crime and Security.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, delivered a significant address during the inaugural session of the G20 conference on ‘Crime and Security in the Age of NFTs, AI & Metaverse’. The conference, focusing on the emerging challenges posed by digital advancements and their impact on crime and security, brought together global leaders and experts to discuss strategies and collaborative approaches.

In his address, “Amit Shah emphasized the need for robust frameworks and international cooperation to address the evolving landscape of crime in the context of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Metaverse. He acknowledged the transformative potential of these technologies but also underlined the importance of safeguarding against their misuse of illicit activities”.

The Union Home Minister highlighted the significant role that technology plays in shaping society and the economy, emphasizing the need for a balance between innovation and security. He stressed the importance of governments, law enforcement agencies, and industry stakeholders working together to understand and address the emerging challenges posed by digital platforms and technologies.

Amit Shah emphasized the role of the G20 in providing a platform for collaborative action and the exchange of best practices. He called for enhanced international cooperation in areas such as information sharing, capacity building, and policy frameworks to counter the threats posed by cybercrime, financial fraud, and other illicit activities facilitated by the digital realm.
