There is undoubtedly right that WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app. It also updates it regularly, adding new features. There’s something missing from it that is available in other apps like Telegram and Hike – a secret chat or the ability to hide specific chats from prying eyes.
Although WhatsApp recently introduced fingerprint lock for its Android app and offers Touch ID and Face ID lock for iPhones, there is no way to lock or hide a specific chat. We can still use the in-built feature to hide the chat from the home screen.
To hide a chat in WhatsApp, follow these steps:
for Android Devices
1. Open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to hide.
2. To hide a chat, long press on that chat.
3. Now, tap on the archive button at the top right corner to hide the chat.
for Apple iphones
1. Open WhatsApp and go to the chat you want to hide.
2. Now, swipe right on the chat and tap the ‘Archive’ button.
3. The chat has been archived and is no longer visible in your chat list.
