Hrithik Roshan, the renowned Bollywood actor, took to social media to commemorate the 106th birth anniversary of his late grandfather, music director Roshan. In a heartfelt post, Hrithik expressed his pride in being a part of his grandfather’s extraordinary legacy and shared a picture of Roshan along with a snippet from his iconic song, “Oh Re Taal Mile Nadi Ke Jal Mein.”
In his emotional tribute, Hrithik mentioned that his grandfather never had the opportunity to celebrate the success of the song as he passed away soon after recording it. The song was composed by Roshan for the film “Anokhi Raat” starring Sanjeev Kumar, which was released in 1968.
In a heartfelt homage, Hrithik Roshan expressed, “Today commemorates the 106th birth anniversary of my grandfather – Roshan, whose name I carry with pride.” Though I never had the privilege of meeting him, learning from him, or experiencing his love firsthand, I am bestowed with a priceless treasure: his work… his music.
His musical compositions lay the foundation of the Roshan family’s legacy, and I am filled with great pride to be a part of this remarkable lineage. On this special occasion, I celebrate my grandfather’s everlasting legacy through one of my cherished songs by him. This particular song holds even more significance as my grandfather never had the chance to revel in its success… he passed away shortly after recording this brilliant track at the age of 40.”
