Uttar Pradesh: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised concerns with the observation of very dense fog enveloping Jhansi and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. As of 0830 IST on 26th December 2023, the visibility in these regions has been drastically reduced to 25 meters, prompting the IMD to issue a weather alert.
“Residents and commuters in Jhansi and Varanasi are urged to exercise caution and adhere to safety measures as the dense fog can significantly impact visibility on roads and pose potential hazards. The phenomenon of very dense fog can lead to disruptions in transportation and daily activities, emphasizing the need for vigilance during such weather conditions”.
The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and provides regular updates to ensure public safety.
