IMD Forecast: Heavy Rainfall Predicted for Arunachal Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a stern warning for the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coming days. According to the latest bulletin released by the IMD, Arunachal Pradesh is likely to experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls (>204.4 mm) on May 28th, 2024. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall ranging from 115.5 to 204.4 mm is expected on both May 27th and May 29th, 2024.

The IMD’s warning has raised concerns among authorities and residents alike, prompting calls for precautionary measures to mitigate the potential impact of the inclement weather. Heavy rainfall of this magnitude can lead to flash floods, landslides, and disruption of essential services, posing significant risks to life and property.

In light of the IMD’s forecast, authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and take proactive steps to ensure their safety. Preparations are underway to deal with any emergencies that may arise as a result of the impending heavy rainfall. Local disaster management teams have been put on high alert, and efforts are being made to streamline rescue and relief operations.

In addition to individual preparedness, community involvement is essential in ensuring a coordinated response to adverse weather conditions. Local authorities are working closely with community leaders and volunteers to disseminate timely information and provide assistance to those in need.
