Weather Systems and Forecasts
A cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam and strong winds from the Bay of Bengal are expected to cause:
- Rainfall: Widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over northeastern states, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim over the next seven days.
- Heavy Rainfall: Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya (June 4-5), heavy rainfall in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim (June 4-6), Arunachal Pradesh (June 4), and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura (June 5-6).

- Kerala & Mahe: Cyclonic circulation over Kerala will cause light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Karnataka over the next five days.
- Heavy Rainfall: Expected over Kerala & Mahe, South Interior Karnataka (June 4-8), Tamil Nadu (June 5), Telangana (June 4-6), and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema (June 6).

- Western Disturbance: A fresh disturbance will affect the Western Himalayan Region & adjoining plains from 4 June.
- Rainfall: Scattered light rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next five days.
Heatwave and Temperature Alerts
- Heatwave Conditions: Likely in parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi (June 4), Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan (June 4-7), Odisha (June 4-5), and Jharkhand (June 4-7).
- Hot and Humid Weather: Expected in isolated pockets of Odisha (June 4-7), Bihar (June 4-5), and Gangetic West Bengal (June 6-7).
