IMD Reports Heavy Rainfall Across Chhattisgarh

Heavy Rainfall: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported significant rainfall in various parts of Chhattisgarh during the past 24 hours until 0830 hours IST on July 26, 2024. The highest rainfall was recorded in Bhatapara (district Baloda Bazar) at 18 cm, followed by Simga (district Baloda Bazar) at 17 cm. Other areas that received heavy rainfall include:

  • Lawan (district Baloda Bazar): 9 cm
  • Wandrafnagar (district Balrampur): 8 cm
  • Poudi Uparora (district Korba): 8 cm
  • Gidam (district Dantewada): 8 cm
  • Kashdol (district Baloda Bazar): 7 cm
  • Premnagar (district Surajpur): 7 cm
  • Bhairamgarh (district Bijapur): 7 cm
  • Suhela (district Baloda Bazar): 7 cm
  • Bade Bacheli (district Dantewada): 7 cm
  • Bemetara (district Bemetara): 7 cm

The heavy downpour has relieved the state, which has been experiencing a prolonged monsoon season. The IMD’s report highlights the intensity of the rainfall and its widespread impact across various districts of Chhattisgarh. As the monsoon continues to progress, the IMD has advised residents to take necessary precautions and follow local authorities’ guidelines to ensure their safety during this period of heavy rainfall.
