The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave alert for multiple regions across India, effective April 27, 2024. According to the IMD forecast, heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are expected in several areas, including pockets of Gangetic West Bengal, interior Karnataka, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Coastal Odisha, Jharkhand, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, and Telangana. Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe and hydrated during the predicted heatwave period.
