IMD Issues Heatwave Warning for Multiple States on May 29, 2024

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for May 29, 2024, predicting heatwave to severe heatwave conditions across multiple regions. Affected areas include most parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, many parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and East Madhya Pradesh, as well as few parts of West Madhya Pradesh, and isolated pockets of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

Additionally, heatwave conditions are likely in isolated pockets of the Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. Residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated. The IMD emphasizes the importance of staying indoors during peak heat hours and monitoring local weather updates.
