The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for isolated extremely heavy rainfall in several regions across India. The forecast includes Konkan & Goa and the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from July 13th to 16th, Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka on July 14th and 15th, the Gujarat Region on July 13th and 16th, and Saurashtra & Kutch on July 16th and 17th.
According to the IMD, these regions are likely to experience intense downpours due to prevailing meteorological conditions. The department has advised residents and local authorities to take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the heavy rainfall.
In addition to these areas, the IMD also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh on July 13th, Chhattisgarh on July 13th and 14th, Telangana, Marathwada, and Vidarbha on July 15th, and Odisha on July 14th and 15th.
The forecasted rainfall is expected to bring relief from the ongoing heat in some regions but may also lead to waterlogging, flooding, and disruptions in daily life. The IMD has urged people in the affected areas to stay updated with weather reports and follow any advisories issued by local authorities.
The heavy rainfall warnings highlight the need for preparedness and caution to ensure safety and minimize potential damage. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay indoors, and keep emergency kits ready.
As the monsoon season progresses, the IMD will continue to monitor the weather conditions and provide updates to keep the public informed about any significant changes in the forecast.
