IMD Report: Heavy Rainfall Hits Western Himalayan Region

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported heavy rainfall in the Western Himalayan Region, causing significant precipitation in several areas. In their recent update, the IMD highlighted the notable rainfall figures, indicating the impact of the downpour across Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand.

Intense Rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu & Kashmir experienced heavy rainfall, leading to considerable amounts of precipitation in various locations. According to the IMD’s report, several regions recorded significant rainfall measurements. Bakore and Banihal witnessed 10 centimeters of rainfall each, while Qazigund received 9 centimeters. Additionally, Rajpura, Kukernag, and Pahalgam recorded 8, 7, and 7 centimeters of rainfall respectively. These substantial rainfall figures indicate the intensity of the downpour in the region.

Deluge in Uttarakhand: Haldwani and Hardwar Witness Heavy Downpour

Uttarakhand also faced a deluge as the Western Himalayan Region experienced heavy rainfall. Haldwani, a prominent city in the state, received a staggering 11 centimeters of rainfall. Hardwar, another key location, recorded 10 centimeters of rainfall. The town of Khatima witnessed 9 centimeters of rainfall, while Narendranagar received 7 centimeters. These significant rainfall measurements reflect the impact of the heavy downpour in Uttarakhand, leading to localized flooding and challenging conditions for the residents.
