The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported a substantial decrease in minimum temperatures across several northern regions. In the last 24 hours until 08:30 am today, areas including most parts of Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, along with West Rajasthan, witnessed temperatures ranging between 6-10°C. This indicates a considerable drop in mercury levels, signaling a notable shift in weather patterns.
The observed temperature variations are particularly prominent in West Rajasthan and certain parts of East Rajasthan, as well as West Uttar Pradesh. Such fluctuations are characteristic of the winter season, where colder temperatures become more prevalent, impacting daily life and necessitating adjustments in daily routines.
“Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the cooler weather, including dressing appropriately and ensuring adequate heating arrangements. The IMD’s timely information serves as a valuable resource for both the public and local authorities, enabling them to make informed decisions and prepare for the ongoing cold spell”.
As winter progresses, the IMD’s continuous monitoring and reporting of temperature variations provide essential data for assessing the severity and duration of the cold weather conditions. This information is crucial for the general public, farmers, and various sectors that are directly influenced by weather patterns.
