IMD Reports Significant Rainfall Across India on July 15, 2024

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released data indicating a significant amount of rainfall across several cities in India on July 15, 2024. According to IMD reports from 0830 to 1430 hrs IST, various regions experienced notable precipitation, with Ratnagiri, Honavar, and Ahmedabad recording the highest rainfall figures.

Ratnagiri topped the list with 89.0 mm of rainfall, followed by Honavar with 51.0 mm and Ahmedabad with 50.0 mm. Other cities also reported substantial rainfalls during this period, including Karwar (40.0 mm), Delhi (Ridge) (37.2 mm), Delhi (Safdarjang) (32.0 mm), Vijayawada (31.0 mm), Panjim (30.0 mm), Mangalore (30.0 mm), Mumbai Colaba (21.0 mm), and Kozikode (20.0 mm).

The IMD’s data highlights the widespread nature of the rainfall event, prompting weather alerts in affected regions. Such heavy rainfall can lead to localized flooding, waterlogging, and disruptions to daily life. Residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts, take precautionary measures, and follow guidelines issued by local authorities to ensure their safety during inclement weather conditions.
