The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heat wave advisories for several regions across the country, indicating the likelihood of severe heat wave conditions in specific areas.
According to IMD forecasts, many pockets of Gangetic West Bengal, along with a few pockets of Jharkhand and Odisha, are expected to experience heat wave to severe heat wave conditions. Additionally, isolated pockets of Rayalaseema and heat wave conditions in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Saurashtra have been forecasted.
Furthermore, IMD alerts indicate that the Gujarat region, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerela & Mahe, and interior Karnataka are likely to witness heat wave conditions on May 2, 2024.
Citizens residing in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses and stay hydrated during the expected period of high temperatures.
