This system is currently located 60 km north-northwest of Bhuj (Gujarat), 80 km northeast of Naliya (Gujarat), and 270 km east-southeast of Karachi (Pakistan). It is anticipated to move west-southwestwards, emerging into the northeast Arabian Sea near Kachchh and the adjoining Saurashtra & Pakistan coasts, where it may intensify into a Cyclonic Storm by August 30th. Subsequently, it is expected to continue its west-southwestward trajectory over the northeast Arabian Sea, moving away from the Indian coast over the next two days.
Additional Weather Developments:
A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the East central & adjoining North Bay of Bengal within the next 12 hours. This system is expected to move west-northwestwards, approaching the south Odisha & north Andhra Pradesh coasts over the next two days. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation is present over southeast Uttar Pradesh, connected by an east-west trough extending to the East-central Bay of Bengal.

The western end of the monsoon trough at mean sea level lies south of its normal position, while the eastern end is positioned at its normal location.

- West & Central India: Expect widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over Saurashtra & Kutch on August 29th. Saurashtra & Kutch will also experience very heavy rainfall on August 30th, followed by heavy rainfall over various regions, including Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Konkan & Goa, from August 31st to September 3rd.
- East & Northeast India: Light to moderate rainfall is expected across the region, with isolated heavy rainfall in Assam, Meghalaya, and surrounding areas. Odisha is likely to see extremely heavy rainfall on August 30th.
- South Peninsular India: Scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall is forecasted, with isolated heavy rainfall likely in Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. Telangana may experience extremely heavy rainfall on August 30th and 31st.
- Northwest India: Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is anticipated, with isolated heavy rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh from August 29th to September 3rd.
