The Inspiration behind #OperationKaveri:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Indians abroad inspired #OperationKaveri. The operation aimed to move Indian nationals out of Sudan, which had become a precarious security situation.

The Complexity of the Operation:

Transporting passengers to Port Sudan from different parts of the country in dangerous security circumstances was a challenging task. However, with the help of 17 Indian Airforce flights and 5 Indian Navy Ship sorties, Indian nationals were transported from Port Sudan to safety in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Additionally, 86 individuals were evacuated through neighboring countries of Sudan. The flight from Wadi Sayyidna, executed under tremendous risk, also deserves special recognition.

Appreciation for Support from Various Countries:

The efforts of Chad, Egypt, France, South Sudan, UAE, the UK, the USA, and the UN were appreciated for supporting #OperationKaveri. People were brought back to India from Jeddah via both airforce and commercial flights. The Indian government expressed gratitude towards Saudi Arabia for hosting the evacuees and facilitating the repatriation process.

Recognizing the Efforts of Those Involved in #OperationKaveri:

The spirit, perseverance, and courage of all those involved in #OperationKaveri were applauded. The Embassy in Khartoum showed exceptional dedication in this difficult time and efforts by #TeamIndia stationed in Saudi Arabia and MEA Rapid Response Cell coordinating in India were commendable. The contribution of the Minister of State for External Affairs, whose presence on the ground was a source of strength and reassurance, was also recognized.
