The Indian domestic aviation industry is on an upward trajectory, with the first eight months of 2023 showcasing a remarkable surge in passenger traffic. According to the latest data analysis, domestic airlines carried an impressive 1190.62 lakhs passengers from January to August 2023, marking a substantial 38.27% increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
August 2023: A Month of Significant Growth
The month of August 2023 stood out with an extraordinary monthly growth rate of 23.13%, propelling passenger numbers to 148.27 lakhs. This impressive rise in passenger growth reflects the industry’s resilience and remarkable recovery from the challenges posed by the global pandemic.
Reliability and Customer Satisfaction
Despite this surge in passenger traffic, it is worth noting that the overall cancellation rate for scheduled domestic airlines in August 2023 was a mere 0.65%. Moreover, during the same month, scheduled domestic airlines received a total of 288 passenger-related complaints, resulting in a commendable complaint rate of approximately 0.23 complaints per 10,000 passengers carried. This low complaint and cancellation rate underscores the industry’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing customer satisfaction and providing reliable and efficient services to passengers.
