Indian Railways Releases New “Trains at a Glance” Timetable: Key Highlights

The Ministry of Railways has announced the release of the new “Trains at a Glance” (TAG) timetable, which came into effect on October 1, 2023. This updated timetable is set to bring several enhancements and improvements to the Indian Railways network, offering passengers a more convenient and efficient travel experience.

Key Highlights of the New TAG Timetable

The latest TAG timetable brings with it a series of notable changes and improvements:

  1. Induction of Vande Bharat Trains: The new timetable incorporates a total of 64 services of Vande Bharat Trains, which are known for their modern amenities and high-speed travel experience. This addition is expected to enhance connectivity and offer passengers a comfortable journey.
  2. Expansion of Train Services: In addition to Vande Bharat Trains, the timetable also includes 70 other train services, expanding the railway network’s reach and options for travelers.
  3. Extension of Existing Services: A significant enhancement is the extension of 90 existing train services to reach new destinations. This move aims to improve connectivity between various cities and regions.
  4. Increased Frequency: Passengers can expect an increased frequency of 12 train services, offering more options and flexibility in planning their journeys.
  5. Conversion to Superfast Category: To reduce travel time and improve efficiency, 22 train services have been sped up and converted into the Superfast category.
  6. Route Diversion: The timetable features the diversion of the 20501/02 Agartala-Anand Vihar Rajdhani route via Malda and Bhagalpur, providing an alternative route for travelers.
  7. South Eastern Railway Changes: For better punctuality and service, changes have been made to the timetable of select services in the South Eastern Railway region.
