Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, commended this groundbreaking achievement during a momentous event.

India’s Energy Security Strategy
The Minister shed light on the four-pronged energy security strategy adopted by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, guided by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into an ‘energy-independent’ nation by 2047. The strategy encompasses diversification of energy supplies, expanding exploration and production, transitioning to alternate energy sources, and embracing green hydrogen and electric vehicles.
Shri Puri praised oil companies for their strides in fulfilling national goals and commitments, emphasizing clean energy initiatives, the transition to BS-VI fuels, and the introduction of EV charging stations, Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG), Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Ethanol blending, and hydrogen fuels. These efforts are pivotal in India’s journey towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
Panipat and Paradip Refineries Leading the Way
Shri Puri acknowledged Panipat Refinery & Petrochemicals Complex and Paradip Refinery for their pivotal roles in advancing IndianOil’s green agenda. He highlighted Panipat’s upcoming 10 KTA green hydrogen plant, a significant milestone in India’s transition to green energy. Paradip Refinery, known as one of India’s most modern and complex refineries, also marked achievements in its recent operations.
The Minister commended IndianOil’s Research & Development Centre for surpassing the milestone of filing 1500 patents, showcasing decades of pioneering work. He recognized the center’s contribution, along with Paradip and Panipat refineries, to the successful production of reference fuels.
