India’s Diverse Weather Patterns: From Rainfall to Rough Seas, Here’s What to Expect (Oct 1st-5th)

Northern India:

  1. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar (01st-05th October): Expect light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely. On the 03rd of October, isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.
  2. Jharkhand (01st-03rd October): Similar weather conditions with light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are forecasted.
  3. Gangetic West Bengal & Odisha (01st-03rd & 05th October): These regions can anticipate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, particularly on the 01st, 02nd, and 05th of October.
  4. Andaman & Nicobar Islands (01st & 05th October): On the mentioned dates, the islands may experience rough sea conditions and squally winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting to 60 kmph. Therefore, fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into these areas on the 01st of October.

West India:

  1. South Konkan (01st October): South Konkan is likely to witness light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls is expected.
  2. North Konkan, Goa & Madhya Maharashtra (01st October): These regions may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.
  3. Eastcentral Arabian Sea (Next 12 Hours): Rough to very rough sea conditions and squally wind speeds reaching 45-55 kmph, gusting to 65 kmph are anticipated along & off the Maharashtra-Goa-Karnataka coasts. Fishermen are strongly advised to refrain from venturing into these areas.

South India:

  1. Coastal Karnataka and Kerala & Mahe (01st October): Light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is expected. Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over Kerala on the same date.

Central India:

  1. Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh (01st & 02nd October): Light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are forecasted. Isolated heavy rainfall may occur.

Northeast India:

  1. Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura (01st–05th October): These regions should prepare for light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected.
  2. Arunachal Pradesh (03rd-05th October): During these dates, Arunachal Pradesh may experience similar weather conditions.
