India’s Digital India Mobile Van has made its debut at the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, providing a unique opportunity for citizens to experience the cutting-edge technology and initiatives of the Digital India program and the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (G20 DEWG). The van is set to embark on a tour of various cities in India, showcasing the government’s commitment to keeping citizens informed and up-to-date on the country’s digital transformation journey.
The Digital India Mobile Van is a veritable treasure trove of technology, featuring a wealth of knowledge and information on key initiatives such as PMJDY, DigiLocker, Aadhaar, UMANG, e-Way Bill, e-Aushadhi, Aarogya Setu, Co-WIN, e-Rupi, and India Stack Global, among others. India’s G20 Sherpa, Shri Amitabh Kant, praised the mobile facility for its ability to bring the digital public goods and infrastructure of India to the masses, calling it the “best way to reach out to the masses and create a Jan Andolan” (citizens’ movement).
The Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Shri Alkesh Kumar Sharma, echoed Kant’s sentiments, emphasizing that the Digital India Mobile Van is an excellent way to communicate to citizens about the G20 DEWG and Digital India. The President & CEO of the National e-Governance Division, MeitY, Shri Abhishek Singh, added that the van provides visitors with the chance to experience Digital India services by simply scanning a QR code.
Visitors to the van will have the opportunity to explore virtual reality setups and travel to a rural village via a car simulator, experiencing AI applications along the way. An interactive quiz on two screens outside the van will educate and entertain visitors, allowing them to test their knowledge of Digital India and G20 DEWG.
The Digital India Mobile Van represents innovation and technological advancement, providing citizens with a unique and engaging experience that showcases the nation’s digital transformation journey. MeitY is offering this one-of-a-kind opportunity to citizens of India to relive the Digital India journey. The van is set to launch in Lucknow from February 3-16, 2023, where it will be launched by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath
