India’s exports of mobile phones have been on the rise, as per recent data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The data reveals that in the period between April-January 2022-23, India’s exports of mobile phones rose to 6.62 times compared to the same period in 2013-14.
This remarkable growth in mobile phone exports can be attributed to the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, which has encouraged the domestic manufacturing of electronic products, including mobile phones. With the increasing demand for smartphones globally, India’s domestic manufacturers have also ramped up their production capabilities, leading to a surge in exports.
