Madhya Pradesh: In the recently announced Swachh Survekshan Awards 2023, Indore and Surat have reaffirmed their status as the ‘cleanest cities’ in India. The annual survey, conducted by the Central government, also awarded Navi Mumbai the third position, emphasizing the consistent dedication to cleanliness in these urban centers.
Indore’s remarkable achievement marks its seventh consecutive win, a testament to the city’s sustained efforts in maintaining high cleanliness standards. The recognition not only underscores the city’s commitment but also sets a benchmark for others to emulate.
“In the category of ‘best-performing states,’ Maharashtra emerged as the leader, showcasing commendable cleanliness initiatives. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh secured the second and third positions, respectively, highlighting their contributions to the Swachh Survekshan initiative”.
The awards were presented at a ceremony in New Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu conferred the honors to the deserving cities and states. The event witnessed the presence of Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and other dignitaries.
