The Indian women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team by 41 runs on Saturday (October 1) to begin their Asia Cup 2022 campaign on a positive note. Smriti Mandhana and co were invited to bat first after Sri Lanka won the toss. Once again, Jemmiah Rodrigues shined with the bat, scoring a blistering 76 off just 53 balls to help the Women in Blue post 150 on the board.
