If the Congress had respect for the judiciary, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday, it would not have supported the BBC documentary, launching a scathing attack on Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge in the process.
Jintendra singh said, “The reality is completely different from whatever Mallikarjun Kharge is saying. If he and his party members had respect for the judiciary, they would not have supported the BBC documentary”.
“I do not agree that the Judiciary has given a clean chit to the Chief Minister of the then Government of Gujarat regarding Godhra. I think this is hypocrisy of Congress”.
The Congress president on Wednesday called upon people to unite against the attack on the judiciary and ensure the rights of the poor,” Singh said, quoting Kharge’s remarks. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doing nothing other than giving speeches and campaigning. But they themselves do not respect the judiciary
“Recently, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh while taunting the BJP, said that terrorist attacks have intensified after the removal of Article 370,” the Union Minister said. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been accused of promoting terror in Kashmir through its yatras, or religious pilgrimages. However, the Congress party has often stopped these yatras on the pretext of terrorism, so it is unclear who is truly responsible for the violence in the valley.
Singh said that while the Congress party is on a “Bharat Jodo Yatra” (a campaign to unite India), their own party is breaking apart.
