Kiren Rijiju Addresses Temperature Sensor Error in Mungeshpur

On May 29, 2024, Mungeshpur’s Automatic Weather Station (AWS) reported an unusually high temperature of 52.9°C. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju explained that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) quickly investigated the anomaly and discovered a 3°C sensor error.

Corrective measures have since been implemented to ensure the accuracy of future readings. Rijiju expressed gratitude towards the IMD scientists, stating, “Thanks to our brilliant scientists for their relentless dedication as together, we’re making sure you get the most accurate weather information.”
