Sony Entertainment Television recently released a sneak peek of its upcoming family drama, ‘Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai,’ starring Meera Deosthale and Zaan Khan. The show sheds light on the societal ill of dowry, focusing on the female lead’s struggle against this age-old practice.
The narrative follows Nandini, portrayed by Meera Deosthale, a woman deeply rooted in tradition but vocal against beliefs that undermine a woman’s dignity. Zaan Khan also plays a significant role in the series.
In the promo, Meera Deosthale, adorned as a newlywed, contemplates her marriage with Zaan Khan. The couple seems happy following all the rituals. However, a voiceover states, “Some traditions are a source of pride for our society, while others cast a shadow on it.”
Simultaneously, Zaan Khan’s parents are shown accepting dowry from Meera Deosthale’s parents, including cash and a luxurious car. Unaware of this, the bride later discovers the truth and confronts her in-laws, demanding the return of the dowry.
