Former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, aged 96, was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday. His condition is reported to be stable. Advani was previously admitted to the hospital on July 3 and discharged the following day after a brief stay.

Bharat Ratna Award
On March 31, President Droupadi Murmu honored Advani with India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna, at his residence. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
Political Legacy
Born in Karachi in 1927, Advani played a pivotal role in the rise of the BJP from two seats in the 1984 elections to national prominence in the 1990s. His leadership in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement significantly boosted the party’s fortunes. Advani also served as the BJP president and held key ministerial roles in the NDA government.
