Lok Sabha Election 2024: Addressing an election rally in Assam’s Lakhimpur, Home Minister Amit Shah lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting India’s success in preventing Chinese encroachment on Indian territory.
“During the Chinese aggression of 1962, Nehru had dismissed Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, but the people of these states will always remember. However, today, China has failed to encroach even an inch of our land. Even in Doklam, we pushed them back,” Shah remarked, underscoring Modi’s firm stance against foreign aggression.
Shah’s comments come amidst tensions between New Delhi and Beijing over Arunachal Pradesh, with China claiming the region as part of its territory. India has rejected these claims, asserting Arunachal Pradesh’s integral status within the country.
The Home Minister also highlighted the BJP-led government’s efforts in securing India’s borders and curbing infiltration, particularly from Bangladesh. He noted that under the Modi government, peace accords were signed, insurgency-related violence reduced, and thousands of youths surrendered.
Furthermore, Shah criticized the previous Congress government in Assam for its failure to fulfill the clauses of the Assam Accord. In contrast, he praised the BJP government for successfully implementing the Bodo Accord within two years of signing.
Shah presented voters with a clear choice between Rahul Gandhi’s INDIA bloc and the Modi-led BJP, urging support for the latter to ensure a third term for the government at the Centre.
As the Lok Sabha Election approaches, Shah’s remarks underscore the BJP’s campaign strategy, emphasizing national security, border protection, and effective governance under Modi’s leadership.
