Lok Sabha Election 2024: PM Modi to Start Public Rally From Meerut

Meerut: With Lok Sabha Election 2024 gaining momentum, PM Modi is slated to address a crucial poll rally in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. Joining him on the dais will be BJP candidate Arun Govil, renowned for his role in the TV serial ‘Ramayan,’ and Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, who recently joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The General Elections are scheduled to unfold in seven phases spanning from April 19 to June 1. Political parties have unveiled their candidates, while numerous contenders have filed their nominations, kicking off intense political campaigns to sway voters.

In this forthcoming electoral battle, voters will cast their ballots to elect representatives to the 543-member Lower House of the Indian Parliament. Results are anticipated to be announced on June 4, with a minimum of 272 MPs needed in the Lok Sabha to form a government at the Centre.

The spotlight rests on two primary political alliances: the INDIA bloc and the NDA, emerging as major contenders in the Lok Sabha Election 2024. While the INDIA bloc comprises parties such as the Congress, AAP, and TMC, the NDA boasts BJP, PMK, and JDU among its member parties. The ruling NDA government aims to clinch a third consecutive term, eyeing victory in over 400 Lok Sabha seats.

In addition to the Lok Sabha seats, the Election Commission of India has announced Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha, along with assembly by-polls for 26 vacant seats.
