Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP Releases Eighth List of Candidates

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its eighth list of candidates for the impending Lok Sabha elections, introducing 11 new names to its roster. Among the noteworthy additions are Bhartruhari Mahtab, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Sushil Kumar Rinku, and Preneet Kaur, all recent entrants to the party.

An intriguing development is the debut of former Indian ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who will be contesting from the Amritsar constituency. Notably absent from the list is actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol, with Dinesh Singh ‘Babbu’ nominated in his place. Deol has previously expressed his desire to step away from electoral politics.

The latest list focuses on candidates from Odisha, Punjab, and West Bengal, solidifying the BJP’s presence in these regions. With this addition, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) now eyes more than 400 Lok Sabha seats, as it sets its sights on a third consecutive term in power.
